Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive

The EU wants to be the first continent to be climate neutral by 2050. One of the objectives of the EU is to guide more capital towards sustainability through transparency and clear and comparable information on what is sustainable and what is not. To achieve transparent, clear and comparable information, the EU implemented the mandatory Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). More transparency should lead to better information so that all parties in the supply chain can make a more sustainable decision based on this information. The need to present relevant, comparable and reliable information, should encourage companies to develop a sustainable strategy and act accordingly. 

European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)

When companies report under CSRD, they will need to use the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) developed by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). The current draft ESRS include approx 84 disclosure requirements which need to be considered by companies, including a large number of various KPIs.
